I John 3:21-4:6, Mark 14:43-15:1
If assistance is needed, ask. "I asked," you say, "and it was not given." So how is it given to others? With the Lord there is no respecter of persons, [it is no question of] give one, and do not give to another without any reason . He is ready to give all, for He loves to give. If He does not give someone, the reason is not in him, but he who asks for help.
These reasons can be certain that we can not even guess. But there are known reasons, visible to all. One of these reasons (and is not the main reason?) St. John notes that it is the lack of insurance, and lack of insurance comes from the conviction of the heart or consciousness. Beloved, he said, if our heart condemn us not, then we have confidence before God. And whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and do those things that are pleasing in His sight (I John 3:21).
There nothing more to add to these words. Everything is perfectly clear. What will help a teacher unfaithful servant, a spendthrift and a rake? The Lord says we tolerate it when when we do not want him to be pleasant and fulfilling His commandments, and if we start pray only when in extreme need arises?!
