Last Sunday, in fact, Jesus answered the question "This Jesus, where is it? "Today, in this second part of speech, Jesus gives the meaning of his mission on earth: It comes from God, and he returned to God, and he invites his audience, he invites us to unite closely to his own destiny eating "his body delivered its shed blood."
He could have explained! When we participate in the Eucharist, we "Communion", that is to say, we share the same load, the same mission as Jesus. In other words, we become partners with Christ. It's not just food, become passive consumers of God's gift. It's all about sharing the mission of Christ the Savior. It is about giving every day of our lives for love.
Every Eucharist should make us a little saint, a little more like God. is in this sense that Paul exhorts us to live according to our vocation: "Take good care of your conduct, he said: do not live like fools, but as wise. Take advantage of this time because the days are evil. Do not be reckless, but understand what the will of the Lord ... Let yourself but be filled with the Holy Spirit. The second movement involves our freedom. For it is this faith: complete trust that I set off to whoever comes to me, to feed on his Word. Everything comes from God. Everything is him. The Gospel is the heart of the knowledge of Christ compels us not to even stay in some shots.
Jesus thus presents himself to us as our food. He gives himself so that we might live. That is the very being of God is self-evident to rob the other RAM. And for us it's the same: live the life of God is to be able to give ourselves entirely to others.

Jesus does something that raises the enthusiasm : "there were only five loaves and two fish," say some. "Yes! Yes! There were five thousand men, I was there, "says the other ... and the news spread like wildfire. But will they discern in this movement, in this sign, God's intention?
Obviously, God does not manifest itself by dint of miracles to feed the hungry of the Third World. For cons, the Spirit of Christ raises people like Abbe Pierre and Mother Teresa, to name a few. It can also inspire acts of sharing. With some bread and some fish, the miracle can take place. The miracle of the contagion of the gift: God has, admittedly, but through men and women of our time.
Misconception of the crowd, who would like the Christ, God, take orders directly; mistake disciples, who doubt that a few loaves and some fish can feed so many people.
Today, a handful of practitioners attending our churches, in the midst of the multitude! Three quarters of an hour of prayer common in a week, what it can change our lives? Well, today we can relive what the disciples lived in the multiplication of loaves. In Communion, we give body to the risen Christ. Because communion is not primarily feed on the body of Christ, "become what we receive," according to the expression dear to St. Augustine. Becoming Christ by our presence in the world, love and sharing, to continue together the work of salvation inaugurated twenty centuries ago.

What will the reaction of Jesus? Us, when someone comes to disturb our rest, however legitimate, we are not always very welcoming. Jesus, himself, remains available. He did not have time to eat, he allows himself to eat. As expressed in the text, it is seized with pity, "taken from the womb." Why? Because he feels that the crowd is hungry for God and it is abandoned as sheep without a shepherd. Then, forgetting to rest, he began to hear the crowd at length.
Jesus really is the good shepherd , who does not stop at its own needs, his personal peacefully at her little comfort. The crowd needs him, she claims? Until the end, he will sacrifice himself.
In the first reading, Jeremiah accuses the shepherds because they have failed in their task because they have divided and dispersed the people . The "sheep" were for them a source of income, nothing more.

is that too often it seems, we seek to explain the "Trinity" when there is enough to live. So, it is necessarily wrong. One God in three persons, said to be consubstantial, that is to say, of the same nature and yet distinct from one another. You understand something about this gibberish? We would like God in our image, but it is we who are in his image. Like the Trinity, we are called to form families and communities united in our respect for diversity. Transforming our loneliness into solidarity, that is our mission Son and daughters of God.
Remember, faith is not believe that God exists, but to believe that I exist for God. Through him, with him and in him, dare to live as God, love and fully given.

Wedged between Easter and Pentecost, Ascension could spend a little unnoticed. It would be unfortunate, because the mystery that is celebrated is very invigorating. See for yourself themselves.
A new presence
Ascension we first learned not to get their hands on Jesus. Christ followers escapes, it escapes our takeovers also possessive and selfish. In this great body that forms the whole Christ, the head is already in heaven. Members already benefit from this divine happiness in which it bathes. Is a celebration of hope. For where the head is gone, Hence also the entire body pass.

If it is not always easy to "abide in God" in our daily lives, perhaps because we rely too much on our own forces.
There is a certain order to build a Christian life. If we start saying: "We must love our neighbor is the only important thing," we will achieve nothing, because everyone understands love in its own way as he did not endorse the mind of Christ. It puts limits, conditions, restrictions, is inevitable. We are ready to forgive to the extent that the other does the same. For Peter, there is no doubt: "Apart from Jesus there is no salvation. " It may seem provocative, this brave Peter! The malaise, in my opinion, is not so much the message of lack of integrity of messengers. When, just after communion at Mass, a "faithful" will begin to speak ill of a neighbor, or when, as a Christian, we can not forgive an offense, it betrays the thought of our God.
Here the Apostle John intervenes judiciously: if Jesus "wanted us to be called children of God" is that we may live as son and daughters of God. If all baptized Christians were a bit more, maybe less would we be uncomfortable to proclaim that Jesus is the Savior of the world!
The world is full of mercenaries, merchants of happiness, illusions sellers on credit. And the world so hungry, he is often ready to buy the special day. In this game, it quickly becomes jaded, saturated. As Christians, we can offer better! Because this is not an idea that we should share, but a life, the very life of God!
As the good shepherd lays down his life for love, we too have to give our lives for our families. God knows us. He knows, he sees what we can become. Hence the richness of the ministry that Christ tells us: to live today like to announce saved the Risen indeed.

The affirmation of the Christian faith on Easter morning through the obvious: Jesus is not buried. "They were scared," says the evangelist Mark. Should we be surprised? First witnesses of an event that will change the world. Easter means "way". Passage of God in our dead to free us and we meet. These passages are numerous in the history of salvation.
From initial chaos, let us remember, God brings life out. Creator, he invests in his holy creature. What surprises most about these stories is the stubbornness of God to believe in humanity, despite its weaknesses, betrayals, its indifference.
Also, the entire liturgy of tonight is full of symbols that remind us of these passages. We started in the dark, to find ourselves in the light. We started in silence, the better to hear the Word. And most importantly, we saw the body torn on the cross and buried Friday, we receive in our, but now the body of the Risen Christ, the bread of eternal life.
We already know that. We believe in it. Yet we may still be afraid. We fear for the future of our Church, we are afraid of losing those we love, fear of not being in height, fear of not being liked, fear of being judged. And like Mary Magdalene, we are concerned ... silently
Even today, God can save us! Whoever created the universe from nothing and one who has fed his people and then led into the desert and one who has spoken to humanity through the voice of the prophets who shared our humanity and rose his only Son from the dead, can make us free. Free to love.

"It is finished. " And one might almost say he has sought. If he had not talked so much. If it was not so shocked. That he could not tolerate hypocrisy. He refused to be silent. It was not a man of compromise. It was quite the Son of the Father and on this assumption it will eventually be judged and condemned.
So how should we understand his death? And what difference does it make in our lives?
First, we must understand that Jesus is more than just a good guy. He is the Son of God, he is God. So when we see Jesus we see God. On the cross, God suffers for us is God who cries outrage is God condemns evil, God confused the darkness and it is God who shows the world his love for humanity even before talk of Resurrection!
Then, the cross reminds us that we must take our lives. no question of turning a blind eye to injustice, not about to resign along the way, no way to compromise to save his skin, no matter finally to escape reality. If we say Christian, Christians, we need to be followers of Christ, to renounce ourselves and take up our cross each day.

In this Eucharist, are one with Christ. Do not dream it everywhere except where you live. God has drawn near to us, that we are close to him.

We are eight days of Holy Week and Easter fortnight. Already the cross of Christ stands before us as a prophetic sign, as an expression of New Covenant. For Jesus, the time is right to give his life and this time he desired, while the fearful. And we, how do we prepare for death?
because you never know when or under what circumstances we will have to live our last visit. Usually, we avoid asking this question, it scares us, we fear it, it seems too far-reaching consequences. Yet even if one seeks to delay the inevitable, it nevertheless remains that death will eventually catch up with us one day or another, whether we like it or not. So far face reality and seek ways to prepare for it sincerely.
Notice that Jesus does not philosophize before death. It does not respond. He lives simply to die as an obedience to his fragile human condition as solidarity with suffering humanity. There is nothing to understand death, except that she is the obligatory passage to live forever.
importantly, do not believe that Jesus was glad to die. In the letter to the Hebrews, St. Paul shows us that Jesus is torn. He understands that he must give his life. He is aware of the drama being played out, but it is in the tears he finally agrees to give to the end.

At eight days of Holy Week, it is good to repeat once again the health check of our faith: are we willing to die to ourselves to bear fruit and give life to others?

the middle of Lent, here that is already shining the light of Easter. The Gospel shows us Christ in High Cross, raised in glory. The apostle reminds us that Passover was like we made at our baptism and first reading tells an important passage of the History of Israel's deportation Babylon and the return from exile. What they have in common? This passage from death to life!
Historically, Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, took Jerusalem in 587 BCE. Those who escaped the massacre were deported as slaves. Israel will have lost everything: its land, its temple, its institutions, its king. is what Psalm 136 says: "By the rivers of Babylon we sat and wept (...) How can we sing a song of the Lord in a foreign land? " 70 years later, Cyrus took the figure of a savior. It allows a small group of Jewish return to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple. is the return from exile.
In the Gospel, Jesus also recalls another significant event in the history of Israel: the ordeal of snakes in the desert. The people who walked in the desert had no where to hide and snakes came to invade the camp. Those who died had been bitten until the day God asked Moses to make a bronze serpent. Anyone who watched the snake was healed.
For Jesus is merely a point of comparison: as the serpent was a sign Life after death sign, well, Jesus raised on the cross become a sign of life after being killed. Quite the mystery of death and resurrection that unfolds before our eyes. The cross tells us two things: first the violence of sin, and secondly, the boundless love of God.
What then is the way I look on the cross? A look of curiosity, pity or a look of faith and hope? He who contemplates a vision of faith understand that God loved the man to give his only begotten Son.
" It is by grace we are saved, "says St. Paul , but must still feel the need to be saved. We gladly said Christian, is said to believe in God, Jesus, perhaps even to the Church, but have we ever had the experience of salvation? We were immersed in God through baptism, does it change something in our lives?

Today's text is not easy to understand. It tells or an episode from the life of Jesus, or a parabola. It is rather a meditation on the cross .
The cross we often problematic. Saint Paul spoke last Sunday as a "scandal" and a "madness". It appears, in the eyes of the world as a failure. Jesus died on the cross! Besides, it necessarily refers to the suffering, which is scary!
But in the Gospel of John, Jesus speaks of the cross as an "ascent" as the instrument of "hello" or even as a "Glorification". Is that the cross, for believers and believers, reveals the face and heart of God, the God of Jesus Christ, a God who is love. Viewed in this light, the cross becomes the sign of a love that goes beyond everything.
In the Epistle of Paul to the Ephesians we read, on this Fourth Sunday of Lent: "God is rich in mercy (...) he loved us with great love." Do we really believe? In general, we are rather skeptical ... it wants proof, evidence. It is rarely satisfied with a simple word and Jesus knows. That's why he uses concrete examples. To lend credibility to his word, Jesus refers to an event that happened long ago in the desert.
You probably know that episode of the "brazen serpent" : when crossing the desert, the Israelites doubted God's goodness, then, it sends serpents that invade the camp. All those who are bitten die until God told Moses to make a bronze serpent and set it on a pole. Just look to the brazen serpent to be healed.
You see the link: in the mind of Jesus, when he will be "high" on the cross, simply look to him for salvation. As the brazen serpent was signs of life after death sign Similarly, Jesus 'high' on the cross become a sign of life.
The reversal is wonderful: Jesus crucified was not down forever in death, as one would expect, but it has never been "high". More importantly, it will become a source of life, and eternal life to all those who will their gaze on him. Not a look of curiosity or pity, but a look of faith. Of faith and love.
Here we are invited to fix our gaze on the Crucified and discern in him, in faith, that which his Father raised.

Jews, witnesses the violent gesture of Jesus, asking for a sign. Jesus responds with a baffling riddle: "Destroy this Temple and in three days I will raise it." There is no better way to destroy the very foundations of the religion of the time. I venture a parallel with our churches today , our temples to us. Some people are worried about the future of our temples, but what is the real issue? What do we fear most? If you had to choose between your family or your house, what are the criteria for discernment?
After the exchange, Jesus presents himself as the new Temple. Jesus therefore gives a sign, but this sign is visible only to believers. It is not proof, but rather an ordeal. It will take three days to understand and again, we really understand? What still remains a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to the whole world is what God has chosen!

Readings this Sunday (click here) What catechesis awesome! In a short story, we see the glory and mission of Jesus. The story is meant as reassuring for us who walk by faith. Let's see how the apostles were able to interpret the event of the transfiguration.
The action takes place on a mountain, a place of revelation. In this sacred space, the disciples will receive a new angle the person of Jesus and his mission. For a moment, clearly they see Jesus as the heir of Moses , The liberator of his people. They see it also as heir to Elijah. They understand even better than Jesus as the Messiah and prophet, in the footsteps of the greatest prophets of the Old Testament. Hence the excitement of Peter: "It is good that we are here, let us make three tents," as if it were possible to capture the moment.
But Jesus is more than just a political leader, more than a prophet, he is the Son of God, he is God. A voice is heard and said: "This is my beloved Son. Listen to him! "This is the" listen to the "That is difficult. Admire a master or love from afar is easy, but to attend her school, to understand his teaching and live is something else. Seen in this light, the story of the transfiguration is more telling than a single event, it is a life story that concerns us all and all, everyday.

A loyalty ... confusing! Our spiritual life is also known periods of desert to which we are more or less well prepared. In these difficult times, a feeling of loneliness and abandonment we invaded. God seems absent. Our prayer seems pointless. The challenge is to persevere and be patient. At that time, it is good to remind us how the Lord has been present in our joys and our problems. Any
temptation puts our faith to the test. The temptation to ease, to enjoy life without taking into account the following day. The temptation to put God to the test, ask him for evidence. The temptation to put God in question, or worse, be mistaken for gods. The temptation to impose on each other the way we think and live. And the list could go longer. All our lives, child, adolescent, adult and even towards the end of our lives, the temptations are there lurking, waiting for a weakness on our part to infiltrate, to insinuate itself: it is laziness, the Pride, jealousy, envy ... whatever!
But what is even more confusing is that God continue to trust us. God continue to hope in us, despite our doubts, despite our faults and sins repeated. He continues to love us, to make alliance with us. When Jesus
from Galilee and takes the call to conversion that launched Jean Baptiste, he invited everyone at the same time, each to strengthen and grow in faith when difficulties arise in life. No question of giving up, no question of becoming discouraged and no question of reducing the requirement of the message of Jesus. Instead, it is in the light of Jesus' call to revise the way we relate to God, men and things.
Finally, if life is responsible for testing our faith and our faithfulness to God, let's be smart enough to avoid falling and let us arm ourselves for battle, prayer, sharing and fasting. Mass Readings WHAT WE BELIEVE GOD?
What God do we believe? To Love a God or a God accountant? I doubt that we're completely defeated the images of a God who punishes or rewards according to our criteria of reliability or infidelity.
We have often opposed the God of the Old Testament than New Testament : first, severe, if not ruthless, and the second is full of tenderness. The first reading today comes to destroy this perception. Many centuries before Jesus, the prophet Hosea shows God taking the initiative of a forgiveness process very difficult. Like a deceived husband, he began to regain the people of Israel, which he compares to an adulterous wife. It is he who takes the lead, he did everything he needed to renew ties and restore a climate of affection. It looks straightforward to seduce, to win back the heart of the unfaithful wife.
Psalm also echoes the attitude of our God. expressions of his love and mercy can not be counted. So whence comes this image of a stern God? Whence comes this distrust of God?
Today, Jesus confronts this issue directly and invites us to a reversal of perspectives. His interlocutors asked him why his disciples do not fast. According to them, to practice religion seriously, multiply the works. Not exactly! Jesus answered. To practice his religion seriously, it must enter into a personal relationship with God. is the real challenge of our faith.
From here, Jesus gives us two tracks.
First, he said, "when the bridegroom shall be taken, they will fast. " We have seen, it is God who initiates the relationship, all free. He is always there. But often it is we who are not here. Fasting means all our efforts we make to present the presence of God.
The Lord also uses the symbols of the new cloth and new wine. is there anything new in what Jesus proclaims. Indeed, the Gospel, from the first Testament, is like a piece of cloth that comes new take on the old fabric or as new wine whose fermentation burst the old wineskins. The Gospel compels us to renewal.
