Free Eye Clinic In Dallas
20th Sunday of the Church
start with a reminder. This chapter six of John's Gospel contains the so-called "discourse on the bread of life." It just started with this startling revelation: "I am the bread of life" and end with: "Who eats this bread will have eternal life." In the middle of each of these two parties, "murmurs" of listeners who do not understand what Jesus meant.
Last Sunday, in fact, Jesus answered the question "This Jesus, where is it? "Today, in this second part of speech, Jesus gives the meaning of his mission on earth: It comes from God, and he returned to God, and he invites his audience, he invites us to unite closely to his own destiny eating "his body delivered its shed blood."
He could have explained! On the contrary his words ring as a provocation. tirelessly in various forms, he reiterated the unacceptable: he must eat his flesh, drink his blood, which are the only real food, the only real drink. He could explain it really does not eat its flesh, that these words a kind of symbol. None of that! Instead, Jesus emphasizes heavily, bluntly, without explanation. Why? Probably because none of these explanations is sufficient to account for the gift to us of his life.
By eating the body and drinking the blood, we recognize the gift of God is he who gives us life, his life . We recognize it is our only home. When we participate in the Eucharist, we "Communion", that is to say, we share the same load, the same mission as Jesus. In other words, we become partners with Christ. It's not just food, become passive consumers of God's gift. It's all about sharing the mission of Christ the Savior. It is about giving every day of our lives for love.
Every Eucharist should make us a little saint, a little more like God. is in this sense that Paul exhorts us to live according to our vocation: "Take good care of your conduct, he said: do not live like fools, but as wise. Take advantage of this time because the days are evil. Do not be reckless, but understand what the will of the Lord ... Let yourself but be filled with the Holy Spirit. " Here a good way to commune with Christ.

19th Sunday of the Church of The Transfiguration
Elijah is discouraged, even hopeless! This does not look like him. It does not even have the courage to rebel: "Take my life," he said to God. This God for whom he always fought, that he now regards as one who "takes life," he who kills ...
God will manifest instead as one who wakes, which calls up and who has for a long walk, long walk of life, walking toward God. go until the mysterious Elijah meeting of Horeb: where you can not go any further, because we reached the summit of the encounter with God.
And we? What is our road to where we going? What is our destiny, what motivates us in life?
When one starts a journey, we follow a route, it pursues a goal, a goal. In life, it's the same thing. If we want to live, not just survive, we need a high ideal. God is our true quest, our inner aspiration.
To his contemporaries gathered around him in the synagogue of Capernaum, Jesus says so bluntly: "I am God." But they know his earthly origin: Jesus, it is known: he is the son of Joseph, we know his father and mother! How could they admit that this man now before them "in the flesh" is "God"? Well yes, Jesus says I am "of God", but believe it is necessary that the Father inspires you, it blows on you. Faith is a gift from God. It can not be acquired after an argument, if it is sharp. "Nobody can come to me, says Jesus, if my Father who sent me draws him towards me. That is what Jesus tells us today in this Gospel passage. Now try to realize what he says.
This is a double movement: that of God to man and of man towards God.
The movement of God to man is personalized in Jesus. He defines himself as "the bread from heaven." Here is Jesus before us, with us, very human but filled with God's life and willing to share it.
The second movement involves our freedom. For it is this faith: complete trust that I set off to whoever comes to me, to feed on his Word. Everything comes from God. Everything is him. The Gospel is the heart of the knowledge of Christ compels us not to even stay in some shots.
Jesus thus presents himself to us as our food. He gives himself so that we might live. That is the very being of God is self-evident to rob the other RAM. And for us it's the same: live the life of God is to be able to give ourselves entirely to others.

Where To Purchase Katydid's Turtles
"It is fortunate that we are here ..." Peter seems obsessed , fascinated by the spectacle before to him. It is as overwhelmed by the desire of eternal things. Filled with joy this vision, he wants to live with Jesus, to immortalize the event: "let us make three tents," he says, "one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah. But God had another plan ...
Let me put the story in context. Transfiguration is between the first and the second announcement of passion. Add to that the presence of Pierre, Jacques and Jean will again be solicited at the time of Jesus' agony in Gethsemane. You see the link? Before testing the cross, disciples receive a special revelation: the beatific vision before the race of the Cross.
would also note that the transfiguration of Jesus is central to the Gospel of Mark. It is in fact not the top, but the summary of all revelation. Moses and Elijah are here. The first recalls the Act and the second represents the prophets. Those are the two pillars the most official of the Old Testament who are called to the transfiguration of Jesus.
Then there is the cloud , the mysterious presence of God. And conclude the event, the Father's voice is heard: "This is my beloved Son: hear him. . For witnessed the event, it should no longer be any mystery.
But it will take Jesus' death and resurrection that the disciples understand the meaning of what they witnessed. But let us not worry. When Peter, once confirmed in faith, will want to ensure the soundness of his teaching, that he will refer the transfiguration.
For the transfiguration of the Lord, the Father reveals the beauty of God. That is what we are called : The transfiguration is the summit of our Christian vocation. Never doubt the promises of eternal joy, how in our everyday lives can we be a small window that lets the beauty of God?
